Autodesk 3D Warehouse was introduced in May 2006. T-Wave Tomography: The Relevance of Electrocardiogram-Derived Parameters.
An ECG-derived heart rate variability (HRV) analysis (T-wave tomography (TnT) algorithm) was recently developed for the 3-D reconstruction of the cardiac T wave on an ECG image, leading to a rich insight into the electrophysiological behaviour of the cardiac T wave. The TnT algorithm considers the T-wave morphology, T-wave axis orientation and position in relation to the electrical axis as input parameters, which are then used to infer T wave heterogeneity and arrhythmogenic risk. This review focuses on the relevance of electrocardiogram (ECG)-derived T wave parameters for the development of the TnT algorithm and their use for different clinical applications. The T wave is usually described as a smooth, symmetric wave following the depolarization of the cardiac ventricles. However, T waves in ECGs are often complex and asymmetric. Complex and heterogeneous T waves have been observed to correlate with arrhythmogenesis and sudden cardiac death, but the pathophysiological origin of T-wave complexity remains largely unknown. The TnT algorithm quantifies different T-wave parameters and allows the user to assess their clinical value by comparing these parameters with their values obtained from healthy ECG databases. The TnT algorithm was successfully used to identify changes in the T-wave morphology, conduction delay, infarcted myocardium and vulnerable wall regions. The TnT algorithm is a clinically relevant tool for the non-invasive assessment of arrhythmogenic risk and the risk of sudden cardiac death.Day: June 9, 2013
